Default Place to buy unlocked cell phone - 26-06-2009, 15:47

I am looking to buy another unlocked cell phone. I want a basic phone for messaging with a qwerty keyboard, preferably with real keys. Most Internet sites have virtually no warranty or no return policies. Anyone have a reliable place to buy a phone at a decent price?

Take a look at www.importgsm.com. I have used them in the past, and the phones come with a one year warranty. They have any gsm unlocked phone you want including the Iphone. Of course no business interest in the company. Just a customer.

I don't know if it is of any help for you, but in Austria unlocking is legal.

Semaf Electronics - www.entsperren.org / Startseite, they unlock everything: cellphones, sticks, datacards, Iphones etc. for little money (around 10-20€)

For instance, I bought in Germany from Conrad Electronic a Vodafone locked VF125 for 5€ (with SIM, new), took it to semaf in Vienna an had it unlocked for 10€.
This phone and other cheapies were also available from Quelle stores and other electronic retailers.

It's a simple mobile, but works smoothly.

For Nokia phones, you'll find austrian (google.at???) websites providing the unlocking or safety master code for free.

I brought my unlocked Nokia E51 from Amazon (US) last year. Currently, they're still showing around the best price for that model, although the prices change frequently.

Providing you deal direct with them (not the third party sellers) it's free shipping and they USUALLY have US warranties - check the listing. The number of phones they carry like this is small (mostly higher end Nokia and Sony models).
