Default Talafone SIM - 15-06-2007, 08:44

Hi all,

I have been using IOM sims for a while now and am looking for some advice on
anyone out there who is using a talafone roaming sim.

I have read the forums and can see that they have slated for black PR, but setting that aside, does anyone have one and if so how does it work for you?

Thanks

Why do you want to leave that small issue aside?

It made false allegations of criminal behaviour against its commercial rivals, which have been deleted from various forums, though some remain here.

... and used false identities to do so.

What else does it need to do to convince you of its merits?

Yep, I agree. They should not have done whatever they did.

I just wanted an objective opinion, as far as I can make out they are not an IOM reseller. Rates seem to be changing all over the place with free roaming countries getting fewer. If the talafone service does not change then their free to receive coverage looks compelling.

I haven't yet decided to buy one, and maybe I won't on ethical grounds from their postings, but at the end of the day I would like to know if the service works, is reliable, and it does what it says on the tin!

Their rates were higher than other brands the last time I looked.

The various IoM resellers have variations in tariff, range of free roaming countries, and requirement of top-ups to stay valid, so you'd need to look closely at a few.
