Thanks. Got it to work.

I did not fully explore, but it seems that the CBW rates are better (lower).

AndyG, what is the advantage?

I've been using them for several years. Their customer service people always respond promptly.

Another noobie trying to add my own two cents...

I just purchased a U-M starter pack and still waiting for it to arrive. Based on the information in this thread, I am guessing that the phone numbers U-M assigns its sim cards are in the 423-663 range.

It is my intention that people calling me from the US will mostly be using Vonage. According to their website, calls to all 423 numbers, with the exception of 4235-37 will only be charged $0.07 a minute. Calls made to 4235-37 are $0.72 a minute.

Since the areas I will be traveling to support free incoming calls, this set-up appears to be incredibly dirt cheap. Almost too good to be true.

Is there something here I am missing?

And if not, perhaps this approach may be something others here may want to consider.

TIA.

Yes, they are.

Please quote the URL with the price list.
After all, I guess that 4235-37 should be written rather as 423 5-7 and it means:
423 5xx, 423 6xx, 423 7xx and 423 663 is within the range of course .

And, of course, no free lunch - someone must pay for free incoming calls and that's why rates to +423 mobiles are going up worldwide, but still there should be providers with better rates than 72 cents/min.

My US mobile is with Cingular. I added on their "fast forward" service which is unlimited domestic call forwarding. I currently have a VOIP line which is forwarding to me real cheap. I expect to lose that rate fairly quickly, but I can change the forwarding on the fly.

Callbackworld's is 14 cents a minute and the company knows that people are using it to call Riiing with them in quantity. In fact, there used to a Riiing link on their website. Presumably, callbackworld has found a route to Lichtenstein where they can make profit.

Thanks for the reply. I see what you are saying about the phone number range, as opposed to a specific prefix. For some of you experts, I guess that was a no-brainer, but for me that was something new. The URL associated with the 423 country rates can be found here:

Vonage Rates for Lichtenstein

Based on your post, I guess that means that people calling me via Vonage will be paying $0.72 a minute. I guess I better start looking for better alternatives.....

Thanks for the info!! You just saved me an unexpected $100 phone bill next month!

That is a very good rate. I thought sure that there must be a large Mobile Termination Fee on top of that. But I'm looking at ATTs website at
http://www.consumer.att.com/global/english...tingnumber.html
and it appears (amazingly) that they do not charge a Termination Fee for Liechtenstein. If you use the pulldown menu of countries to get the rate, Liechtenstein does not appear (though it is mentioned on the table below).

If that is right, then the ATT rate is the best I've seen. My home Long Distance service is with Bellsouth, who gives a great .08/min rate to Liechtenstein, but tacks on .39/min Mobile Termination!
