Default O2 Prepaid Internet access - 10-02-2007, 02:03

I have a prepaid O2 SIM I'm going to use for an upcoming trip to the UK.

I have the WAP browser configured and all is good.

I'm wondering if I can use the service for tethered Internet access for my laptop. I realize it will be a little expensive but I don't mind. I plan to use it only occasionally.

If so, what would the dial string be?

I have my Rogers postpaid phone set up for tethering, and it's occasionally very convenient.

Thanks.

Jim

If you want to tether on a prepaid in the UK, look at Tmobile's Walk-N-Go. I have a contract Orange SIM (OVP virgin -- I pay what I use) and opted to use Walk-N-Go for my data. You are capped at pound a day on data consumption. I sat in a Costa coffee for two hours tethered to it, made a half dozen VOIP calls off it and never got cut off.

As the Brit's love to say, it was "Brilliant."
