Same problem with freeglobalsim. Also, freeglobalsim's rate page has been offline for a few days...says for maintenance. Will not be surprised of they jack up some rates.

I am wondering if all the IOM card have this problem.

Caller ID would be something you expect as a standard but non of the sites mentiones that it is not available.

The funny thing is that when I login to my account and call details the caller id's of people calling me are all listed. So for some reason they do know the caller id's but it is not forwarded.

All the IOM cards I've looked state that caller ID is not supported yet, though some like GeoIM say its coming later this year!

So is Christmas. This has been promised for a while. With the demise of UM as a viable international sim card (with the absurd rise in termination fees in just about everything, and the fact that rates to Iceland and Estonia are out of whack too, the Isle of Man cards become the card of choice for free reception of calls at reasonable rates to the caller (UK rates) but the lack of caller ID doesn't help matters.

As a UK citizen, then the IOM variety rather than Estonia or elsewhere, are of most interest to me. Caller ID is one factor, but its amazing how IOM SIMs vary - some operate a call-back procedure instead of direct dial, some charge a yearly "reconnection" fee, and this is on top of the varying call rates (with or without connection fees) and billing intervals.

Still a nice learning curve

Yep! Still can't understand how so much difference in rates. For example, in most of the caribbean, some charge in excess of $2 to make/receive calls, while some even offer incoming calls free. I guess it's up to the reseller as to what they charge.

I also noticed that lately 50% of the time my IOM sim from freeGlobalsim has been showing a number for incoming calls, but not the exact caller ID of the caller.

Default IoM CallerID - 08-07-2007, 01:40

The lack of caller ID is a techical issue at the carrier level. What you have to remember is that the IoM systems are placing calls to the SIM from points all around the world so Caller ID will not match the originating country. This can cause calls not to be terminated as they are seen as 'fake' calls. Great care has been taken to avoid this and this is what has taken time to solve. Caller ID should be available within the next 2 months
