Default Need help with UM+ sim blocked - 19-09-2007, 02:26

I haven't used my sim for a while so today tried to send sms using my UM+ simcard, when i put in (I guess) wrong PIN # 3 times, my sim was blocked, now what can I do to unblock it, I wish it doesn't ask for pin # everytime I insert the simcard in the phone, what a pain... this UM+.
I sent sms from my old sim (+423) to new UM+ (+44) , it said sms not sent, but when I check my acc online they charged me 39 cents.

Can anyone help with sim block? would appreciate any info. thanks

Isn't the PUK printed on the card the SIM came in?

On the card that came with the sim card is the PUK (no it's not puke but rather password unlock key)....find it and enter it and make sure you don't enter it incorrectly 10 times as then the sim card will be fried....then next time you turn on the phone, you can remove the pin requirement by going through the security menus of your phone...you will need the pin that one time and the sim card will no longer ask for a pin (I am not sure this is written to the card and whether or not it will carry over if you transfer the sim card to another phone; some technology geek here will better be able to answer that).....I've always thought it senseless to have a pin lock on a prepaid card anyway....they're probably not going to give you back the credit and if it's the phone the thief wants, he or she can just throw away the sim card anyway....

As MATHA531 said, you can remove the SIM PIN request via the security menu. Being a SIM PIN, it will transfer over when you put the sim in another phone. Removing the SIM PIN request is the first thing I do on any sim that came with the PIN activated.

I generally change the PINs on all my SIMs to the same code.
