Default Problems connecting on wind for data - 29-05-2007, 17:15

I have ordered my data on wind but cannot connect. I made a new connection and put "internet.wind" as the access point name and my phone will not connect. I have received the sms confirming my purchase of data. Am i missing a step in establishing the correct way for my phone to connect? Thank you

Try to go here:
https://155.libero.it/pls/portal30/w155.confcell

there's not your phone, but you can try the configuration with some other Samsung phone, like the X830... Unfortunately you have quite a particular phone, which of course is not sold in Italy.

The fact you wrote "trough Sprint" means just you bought it with Sprint? Did you put the Wind simcard inside and does it work? You can make/receive calls with it? It could also be possible that GPRS is not active (it should be, but you never know if you cannot access the 155.it). If you you need to call 155 (free) and hope to find someone who can speak English...

I doubt that Wind has much experience with CDMA/GSM hybrids.
You need to have sent the SMS to activate the GPRS or WAP options. Next the phone needs to be set up for the option you activated. The APN you use is dependent on the option chosen. You may also need to input the DNS address. The settings can be found on this forum but how your particular (and rather unusual) phone is set up is up to you. When it comes to that Samsung phone, you are the expert.

OK you have a couple of choices:
1. Do you activate WAP-only and use their WAP gateway or do you activate GPRS without the WAP gateway and get all the ports?
For GPRS you follow these instructions:
http://www.wind.it/it/privati/serviz...ervizio524.php
For WAP you follow these instructions:
http://www.wind.it/it/privati/tariff...tariffe591.php
2. There are also options for large monthly data buckets but I don't know the details on them.

He already has the MegaNoLimit option active so I suppose GPRS is active as well... anyway you can try to do so:
Send an SMS writing "GPRS SI" to 4533 (free)
and then wait for the automatic reply, if you don't understand it tell me that I translate.
