Default Help - Turkcell Prepaid Topup Needed - 23-07-2010, 01:36

At the moment I'm looking for a way to topup a Turkish Turkcell (Hazir Kart - prepaid) SIM and not having a lot of luck. It is possible to do it with a Turkish Credit Card, through a Turkish bank, with a reload card or if in Turkey pretty much at most stores. Also asking a friend/person you know in Turkey to do this. Unfortuneately, none of these apply to me so I have spent quite a lot of time in the past few days looking at ways and it is not easy.

There use to be people selling topup cards on ebay, but these have all gone. There are some websites in Turkish that when translated seem to offer the service to dealers, but I'm not sure if they would take a non-Turkish credit card.

I need to make a topup soon or I will lose the number, and I really dont want that to happen as I need to keep it.

If you have any ideas/suggestions/anything else, please do write a reply.

Thanks in advance.

This is a few months a go, but here's an update...

Turkcell would not take a non-Turkish credit card, either on the phone or through their website.

Turkcell have a number of agencies in Germany and other countries, but not UK, that will, allegedly, sell top-up cards.

The few sellers of top-ups on ebay have gone. And when they were selling it was at twice the price of buying in Turkey or from Turkcell.

I found a way to do it, but it was a one off and a generous action, which I will detail later, when I have the right information at hand.

If anyone has come across a way to top-up Turkcell pre-pay SIM cards outside of Turkey and without a Turkish bank account or a Turkish credit card, I would still be interested to know.

Turkcell seems to be one of the harder SIMs to top-up without some sort of local presence or bank/credit card. I believe with Vodafone it is possible to buy top-ups from any country and when used they are some how converted into a credit for whatever countries Vodafone SIM is used.
