Is Ten any good as an option for a holiday in france? I don't read french, but the hitch appears to be that for a payg sim then there isn't a way of getting one without buying a phone?

if my rusty french is still good enough they only offer 12 months and 24 months contracts. Anyone with better french may correct me.

"ten" is not listed on our NATIONAL OPERATORS page. Agree, 12 or 24 months of service required. Works on ORANGE. Based on this, I would say NOT suitable for someone on holiday.

I did not read much farther, but I suspect they will want some kind of French address to implement billing. Speculation on my part, however.

Stan

It's a contract, not prepaid.

ahh, so the "sans forfait & sans engagement" means you buy the phone only?

"without contract & without commitment" does not seem genuine if you are required to sign up for either 12 or 24 months.

I think we are going to need some French-speakers to untangle this for us.

souscrite.

==================================

Initial period of the contract is one year.

Yes it seems they only offer forfaits (subscriptions) with 12 or 24 months agreement. The offer sans forfait et engagements is to buy the HTC phone only.
