Default MVNO changes (USA) - 14-09-2007, 19:48

Ahoy there!

I just wanted to add some information in the USA National Operators section

BeyondGSM --> The company and website still exists, but from what I am seeing on HowardForums the company is no longer activating new 'Beyond GSM' accounts. They company owns Jolt Wireless(joltwireless.com) and seems to be focusing all of it's efforts on that brand

POP --> POP no longer offers new activations. They do have some top-off cards for current subscribers but it appears that the company is killing off this option. POP seems to have been replaced with 'call plus wireless' (http://www.ecallplus.com/cellular/callplus-gsm.html)

XE Mobile --> The company is in financial trouble, and they are currently not offering anything for sale. The company may go down in flames soon.

Still alive (but not listed:
Company: Cool Prepaid (MVNO)
Prepaid Program: Cool Prepaid
Website: http://www.coolprepaid.com
SIM-Only Package: UKNOWN -

Company: Red Pocket Mobile (MVNO)
Prepaid Program: Red Pocket Mobile
Website: http://www.redpocketmobile.com/
SIM-Only Package: Not on the website, but you might be able to get one if you email or call customer service.

Company: Airvoice (MVNO on cingular)
Prepaid Program: yes
Website: http://www.airvoicewireless.com/
SIM-Only Package: Yes (through customer service?)

That's what's new in the US and A

Here is a new GSM prepaid MVNO coming on the market. What is interesting from the press release is that: (a) the card will operate in the US and Canada; and, (b) that there seems to be some potential for prepaid US data.

Anote MVNO is going belly up.
After 12/31/2007 Cool Prepaid will no longer be available.
All balances left over will be gone. I suggest removing it from the list: http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/usa.html
