I apologize in advance for the large amount of info but teltarif.de didn't list all of the details for the Klax Total tariff. You'll find a detailed translation below the original German articles.

Pricing info:

Calls to landlines, all Austrian wireless networks and to the Klax mailbox: 9 cents/min (60/30 billing)

SMS: 20 cents/SMS

Requirements: This tariff has to be activated by sending an SMS to 0676/2222, refilling the prepaid SIM with 20 Euros and then it must be used within 30 days. A reminder SMS is sent before the 30-day usage period expires. A renewed 20 Euro refill extends this tariff by another 30 days.

No info on GPRS/MMS/WAP prices.

Teltarif.de issued this statement on their site:

T-Mobile Austria: 9 Cent in alle Netze

Original Article:

Translation:

The lowering of prepaid SIM rates continues in Austria. At the beginning of this week, Tele2UTA started marketing their Champion prepaid offer which offers calls to Austrian landlines and all Austrian wireless providers for 8 cents/min. T-Mobile Austria will counter this offer by expanding their prepaid klax price plans to include the new klax total tariff starting on Monday, March 6th. The price for calls to Austrian landlines and all wireless providers will be set at 9 cents/min. The billing rate used by the new plan be on a 60/30 second basis.

Through this new tariff, T-Mobile's 9 cents/minute rate is the same as one's Yesss! offer which was already introduced in April of last year. T-Mobile is the first Austrian provider to offer such a tariff under their own brand name. An SMS costs 20 cents whereas Yesss! charges only 13 cents.

T-Mobile Austria's site goes one step further to explain the process of how to register for this tariff.

Original article:

Translation:

Klax Total - Calls to landlines, all Austrian wireless providers and mailbox for 9 cents/minute

With Klax Total all calls (regardless of T-Mobile to T-Mobile, landline, T-Mobile to one/A1/tele.ring/Tele2UTA/Yesss!) are billed at 9 cents/min. The only requirement is that the prepaid SIM is refilled at least once a month with a value of 20 Euros. This sum covers the average calling costs for this target group. In addition, T-Mobile customers can choose from a wide phone selection and depend on 24 hour customer support through the free Customer Care line (0676/2030).

Further info:

Translation:

Klax Total: Simply register and make cheap calls

This is how it works (same procedure as for Klax Club): Send a free SMS with the keyword "Total" to 0676/2222, refill the prepaid SIM with 20 Euros and then you can take advantage of these prices for 30 days. T-Mobile will send a reminder SMS before the 30-day usage period expires. The tariff availability is then extended by another month.

There is the rub. Teltarif did not explain the details as well as you did.

Must LOAD 20 Euros per month. @ 9 cents / min, that is 222 minutes. Seems you can allow extra minutes to accumulate and pass from one month to the next. So what kind of POSTPAID deals are there in AT?

SMS seem a bit pricey, too.

Thanks,

Stan

PS -- OT. I take it you saw the updated and discontinued D1 DE tarifs.

20 cents is the average price for national and int'l SMS on the regular T-Mobile Xtra, Vodafone CallYa, E-Plus Free & Easy and O2 Loop prepaid plans.

I haven't seen the new D1 tariffs yet. Here are the T-Mobile Austria monthly contract plans:

SMS is 19 cents in DE on D1. SIMYO is 16.

In AT an Yesss! an SMS is 9 cents. If T-MO AT was trying to rival the discounters, they missed that aspect.

For DE D1, XtraOne is no longer available from T-MO directly. ViktorVox as of today was still showing it. VV does not show XtraPlus -- have not for quite some time although they USED to sell it.

DE D1 has recently said they see more price cutting. Seeing is believing, however.
They just introduced Xtra SMS Friends probably to replace the XtraOne. It has a 92 day validity, however. Here interal SMS is 5 cents.

I read the Xtra Click&Go will revert back to 15 cents and 30 cents after May 31.

Not clear if and when XtraNONSTOP will terminate. So much for price cutting.

The only 2 comparable contract plans are Relax OE plan and Light. If you use 200 min, then it seems the prepaid offer beats Light. On Relax OE plan calls TO landlines and TMO phones seem to be FREE. So if all you calling is to those, you are better off with the Relax OE plan for 17; seems to be a very LIMITED TIME offer.

Well I switched to E-Plus' postpaid BASE tariff the other day and am in the process of waiting for my number to be ported so I'm not too up to date on how T-Mobile Germany's tariffs are.
