Has anyone used the roaming SIM card provider Roam4Less:

http://www.roam4less.com

The rates seem to be attractive, and coverage looks good. However, startup cost is high, and there are no FREE incoming calls.

They provide a US or Canadian based number in many area codes. I am considering them to replace my dead United Mobile SIMs.

several of my family members have been using their phone for a while and find their service good. Myself, I have called them on their roam4less phone while they were traveling, never had difficulties getting through and the line was very clear. They claim to have literally saved hundreds of dollars. I guess that what it is all about Roaming for less.

Funny that you are considering them. You write rates are attractive but setupcost is high and no free incoming. To me this sounds as a contradiction and rates are not attractive if there is no free incoming and high setupcost.

I think there are many other sims that offer free incoming and have simular or lower rates. Also this sim does not seem to offer free incoming in the USA but charges $1.65 for incoming.

Their service life terms are a bit odd. They state:

20. If the SIM card is idle (no incoming or outgoing calls) for a period of 10 months, it will be deactivated without prior notice. Any outstanding balance as well as the phone number may be lost without compensation. This period of time may vary by product and/or country.

I am not sure what that last sentence means? is it 10 months or not?
