Default voipbuster download blocked - 30-04-2010, 15:16

Hi,

after a software update on my N5000 I wanted to again download the http://gsm.voipbuster.com

I entered the address, then is shown "Please download the application: VoipClient".

After that an error message is displayed: "No valid certificate",
end.

Which setting is wrong???

The application appears to have 3 VeriSign certificates, one of which expired in late January

I sent them a query about this, and the reply told me to contact my phone manufacturer for advice on how to do SIP settings

I sent the query back, and it's been ignored

It might be worth someone else trying to ask

The trouble was, even when I switched off the phone checking that the application is certified, it was still rejected. I don't know if this applies to all phones; this was a Nokia 6120c

I found some internet discussions about self-signing applications, but it's something I don't know about or quite understand, and perhaps it is not possible anyway on some Symbian phones, such as S60 series 3

Use this link to install it.

http://gsm.voipbuster.com/download/voipclient.jar

You will get a warning, but the install will proceed.

Until Betamax have signed their midlet with a valid certificate, a botchy workaround would be setting your phone's date back by a year or so, when the expired certificate was still valid and retry installing the voipclient.

Thanks for your help.
With Vlad's link download begins, but now I'm in Austria where I'm facing authentication probems with my blau.de SIM in several networks.
Registration in the network works (A1, Orange AT) but data transfer is obviously rejected.......

Problem seems to be solved now. Voipbuster downloaded successfully. The problem was not the phone, it's software version or the blau.de SIM, but my Dual-SIM adapter which is obviously disconnecting the data transfer. Please don't ask me why.

This certificate issue is still not resolved. Makes you wonder if Betamax will ever do it.

The 'botchy' solution mentioned above still works though!
