Default european cheapest data roaming - 30-06-2010, 17:59

Hi Guys,

for our gps trackers (MyCarControl.de GPS Tracker und Personenortung) i am looking for a professional roaming solution.
the data amount is between 10 and 15MB / Month, so i am looking for the
"cheapest" european provider who can handle this amount for less than 15 Euro (which is equal 1Euro/MB)... The incement should be less than 100KB (10KB or better 1KB).

I am looking a long time for this, did not find anything serios...

any hints or ideas?

Thankyou
Wolf.

1 Euro per Megabyte is quite a tough goal, however you can have a look at Base Belgium or Telenor. To reach this 1 Euro per MB your trackers have to be configurable regarding the operator selection. In each country there will be only one network with cheap data, the others much more expensive. So you need to set a whitelist with ops. I dont think that the VT310 or GT60 can do that as they are quite stupid chinese trackers (btw: 349 Eur for them is quite a high price indeed)...

Hi Pat,

if i understand your website correct, than is this 1.5 Euro / MB only if i book 50MB/Month which is for example much more than if i use a simple O2/Germany Simcard which have a max. limit of 59 Euro/Month and 200MB for this (after this only 2kbit speed).

but nevertheless, i need only 15 MB max. per month.

Thanks,
Wolf.

Ah ok, own firmware makes sense. The hardware is quite good but the original software sucks.

cheers,
Chris

Outside the data package they offer 2,4 EUR per MB in most EU countries.
Base is at 1.5 or 3 Euro/MB (depending on country) but charging by 1kb increment.

I don't know of anything better at the moment for that usage level than one or two bundles on T-mobile UK, like the £10 (€12) a month

Boosters - Flexible extras you can add to your account to save you money - T-Mobile
