I asked to have a British number transferred to the Toggle SIM. Mainly to be available at "normal" UK Rates, as Lyca#s are sometimes more expensive to reach.

Luckily I don´t need it urgently:
  • Got the PAC-code from Virginmobile on Friday last (21 June).
  • Called customer service (cs) on the same day (21 June), and it was confirmed to me that the transfer would happen until Tuesday (25June).
  • Nothing happend, so I send an email to cs on Wednesday (26June). No reply after now 16 hours.
As mentioned, luckily I don´t really need it. But reliability doesn´t look like that...

I only have one other experience - when I asked to have the mailbox deactivated it was done and confirmed by email within 4 hours.

Once the MNP-transfer worked I´ll update the thread.

port in successful It was not necessary to send any SIM, only finding out the PAC from the old provider, and communicating that to the new provider...

Afaik British MNP rules require the PAC code to be provided immediately by phone or within two hours by SMS. Those providers who only offer the latter method indeed require a corresponding request to be texted by SMS, but if you have already gotten your PAC code there is no need for any SMS.

Thanks, inquisitor!

That corresponds to what I experienced. I found out the PAC via calling Virginmobile´s hotline, a friendly person from the Phillipines gave me the PAC after 2 minutes.

I just wondered what´s the story, since the port was now 3 days overdue (Tuesday -- Friday). Just as I posted the message in here, the port-confirmation came in by text (literally 2 minutes later).

Thanks again and a nice weekend to all,
Christian

Helllo Tux,

Please share your comments with us regarding the cost of 9c/call. Is this only for calls placed in the Netherlands?

In the Dutch site it is mentioned that in order to keep the SIM card active, there has to be any call/sms activity at least every 80 days compared to 90 days in UK site. Did you know this?

Regards,

That's not a problem as I use it regularly

I've tried with a longer call (50 sec), and it's the same: 9ct.

Someone should try in the Netherlands and check if the call charge is applied or not
