Guys (and gals),

Don't hold your breath on receiving your SIM card. I ordered mine on June 20th. They promptly charged my credit card on the 21st. I also got the call on last Wednesday (June 28th) asking me whether I still wanted the card (which I said yes) and promising me that it'll be shipped immediately next day. I am located in the US (California to be exact).

So fast forward another week to today. Seeing that other members of this board has gotten the SIM card while I still haven't heard a thing from Yackie, today I did a "live chat" with their customer service. What I found out is that they are still out-of-stock and have no clue when more SIM cards will come in.

I did order mine thru the prepaidgsm.net link, so the promise of fulfilling prepaidgsm.net order first is total BS. So far I can NOT recommend anyone from ordering from this company (unless you want the usual "charge your credit card first and not get your product treatment").

Sorry for the rant, I am just a tad POed. I was going to give a complete report after using the card in Singapore (leaving next week). I guess there is almost no point now. I am that close from cancelling my order.

achu,

Were you able to verify (based on your Order ID) that yours was not shipped out? Just to make sure, even though very unlikely, it has not disappeared in the mail.

The fact that I can't even get a confirmation email regarding my order and my credit card has been charged right away is beyond me. I will not be going overseas till September, but there is no guarantee I will even get it before then.

Bossman,

I double checked with my order # with the "live chat" customer service person. My order is still in the system, and according to him, it has not shipped yet (so it is not lost in the mail).

I did get a short confirmation email on the 21st (the day after I ordered). Other than that and the phone call, I have not heard anything more from them.

I hope they do realize that they are not allowed to charge the credit card without shipping the product. I am giving them until next Wednesday (since I'll need the SIM on Friday). After that, I am cancelling my order.

Hey everyone. I normally don?t post things like this but I wanted to get the word out about problems with Yackie Mobile. I have seen a few people on the boards say they were going to be trying them. I did and am not very happy. The product looks great on the website but it ends there. I placed an order for there most expensive SIM Card. The transaction cleared my credit card account and I waited a week to get a shipping confirmation which never arrived. I called them on the ?Customer Service? phone number which is answered by a guy who tells you to email the support department. All I wanted to know is when they were going to ship my SIM to me. He told me at this point they have had many delays in getting SIM cards and could not give me a shipping date. I am very frustrated because customer service won?t help with a refund and support doesn?t reply to their email requests.

He assured me that in the future things like this wont happen because changes are being made. That really doesn?t help me now.

I have since called my credit card fraud department and they have reversed the charge. I know you can?t judge a company by one customer?s experience. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. If you are thinking about ordering from them you may want to call and talk to customer service and make your own informed decision.

Thanks and I hope this helps International travelers with there SIM card decisions. I did get another brand and am very happy.

I ordered the package with "15% off" for 126$ on june 22.
On June 28 i got a email asking me to confirm my shipping adress as they will deliver tomorrow (june 29).

Nothing till yesterday.

Yesterday i chat with the support (hey, they do not have any info at all, why do they offer a support chat then?) which told me to email the support. I did and got a email telling me that they will ship my card tomorroy (july 13).

Great.

I will wait one more week and then i cancel my credit-card payment as well. If they have such delivery problems they should have the gutts to put that on their website.

At this point, I'm still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt...start up companies do have all sorts of unanticipated problems....after all the order has been charged to a credit card and one of the great things about ordering with a credit card is that it gives you a degree of leverage and if ultimately you don't get what you ordered, a simple dispute letter will indeed get the charge reversed (failure to receive what was ordered)....

I did in the last day or two get an e mail from them telling me my sim would be shipped on 13 July which is today.

We will see what we will see...

The only worrisome thing to me is the guy who kept answering questions about them at the start on this forum seems to have vanished completely.....

Anyway since after all the billing period on the credit card has not closed, still not out any real money.

Update... Got this email today. Really says nothing other than we dont have the money to refund you.

Good Morning Mr. Brown,

Let me apologize in advance to you for the inconvenience caused by our shipping delay. Unfortunately at this time, since the order has already been process in the system I can?t refund your Credit Card. I have received the notice for cancellation, and soon as we are able to do the cancellation, we will process your request for cancellation. Again we do apologize. If we have any further question, please do not hesitate to contact us at support@yackiemobile.com.

It's not up to them, as I understand credit card disputes....the credit card company is obliged to issue a credit to their merchant account whether they have the money or not.....I'm not sure they can contest it if indeed they are unable to ship or even if they go bankrupt then the credit card companies has to foot the bill......it has happened quite often in the past with airlines that have gone under.

The only possible difense here that might hold up the credit is their response to the credit card cmopany that this is simply a delay in shipping and that they will ship in the future.

I must say, however, that I am becoming more and more suspiceous of just what is going on as that e mail just doesn't ring as something that would come from a legitemate company.....let's see what the credit card company has to say!

USUALLY.... speaking from some Ebay experiences here - I think the credit card company will issue a temporary credit and send out a formal dispute letter to the card holder. The card holder must document his/her claim with emails, receipts, letters - whatever and mail those in to the credit card company. Upon investigation - and I imagine the credit card company will try to contact the seller, if the card holder has good evidence and the seller cannot document or prove a shipment, then the merchant has no recourse. If the merchant has evidence that conflicts with the buyer (card holder), then I am not sure what happens. In almost every case where my Ebay seller did not deliver the merchandise, I received a refund.

It is a shabby practice to bill for merchandise BEFORE it is shipped. Mind you they are allowed to do an AUTHORIZATION, which decrements your available credit. But they are not supposed to actually put thru the charge until they ship.

When I ordered my son's Dell for college, they sent their authorization thru and I am sure they received approval; however, the charge did not appear until about 10 days later when they actually shipped the goods out.

I agree that Yackie sounded and looked too good to be true. I've also been struggling to get any response from Yackie. Warning to all who might be considering going down this path.....

I ordered a SIM last Saturday, and received an automated "No Reply" email with a link to print my order - the link doesn't work. The very brief email (it contained no order #, no product info, etc) just stated that my order is being processed and another email would be sent shortly.

On Monday evening I called the support line and received a recording to leave a message or call back. I left a message with 2 phone numbers for call back.

Tuesday I called support again and the guy who picked up had no answers. He could not access their system at all to see my order or its status. He told me to send an email and hestiantly said that they may be shipping SIMs this Friday. I sent the email.

Today, I tried the chat line several times, but it was busy. It gave me the option to type a message, which I did including my email and phone #.

Net/net, no response from them to any of these forms of communication. I checked my credit card and it was charged the same day I placed the order! Seems that's the only part they've gotten down pat. It's been noted on this forum that the charge transaction doesn't say yackiemobile, but another name. I won't go into details now of the call I made to them, only to note that it was a bit strange, as is their website.

Tomorrow I will cancel my order and call my credit card company - frankly I'm concerned that Yackie has my account #. This is no way for any reputable firm to do business. They seemed to have made very little effort to provide the basic e-commerce and support services. yackiemobile is supposed to be part of a larger company that provides VOIP services that's been in business for several years, but I now question that too.

At best, I feel that I was lured in and fell for their marketing hype and then subsequently ignored and disrepected as their customer. At worst, I think something is fishy - I hope I'm wrong.

When I clean up the yackie mess and can clear my head, I'll figure out which other international SIM I'll get for the brand new Moto L6 that's currently doing nothing that I'll take to Europe in August.

Can anyone provide a problem-free experience with yackie?
