Default Vodafone SIM Card question - 05-06-2008, 02:16

The Vodafone SIM card seems to have the best coverage for Scotland, particulary Skye. Once I buy the SIM card and activate it, I'm assuming I can "bump" up the minutes at stores as I did with a telestial SIM when I was in the U.K. the last time. Am I correct?

Yes, that's how prepaid works. You can top up with a scratch card, a swipe card, or online. BTW, in Europe, coverage is generally a non-issue, though 900 MHz tends to work better in remote areas (Voda and O2 are primarily 900).

Voda does have the best coverage, but it also has the highest prepaid rates.

We stayed in Broadford on Skye, and surprisingly, Orange had really good coverage (which was useful since I could tether with it). O2 was also fine and somewhat cheaper to use than Vodafone. T-Mobile was only so-so.

CA: SaskTel, Wind postpaid; Rogers, Bell postpaid iPad flex plans; US: T-Mobile postpaid data, prepaid voice; PureTalk (AT&T MVNO) prepaid voice/data; AT&T prepaid iPad plan

Hardware: Too much but notably iPhone 5, iPad Mini Retina LTE, Moto G LTE (N.A. version), iPhone 4. All unlocked.
