UM+ voicemail is now up -
02-10-2007, 15:26
At least until you call 077 to set it up. That will cost a bundle to do from here!
Just received this... ----------------------------------------- The days of missing a call on your United Mobile+ SIM card are over; your new voicemail service is active as of now. We kindly ask you to personalise your mailbox straight away, by simply dialing the EasyCode 077 from your United Mobile phone and following the instructions. Note: Your mailbox is not reachable until you have personalised your settings. For further information, please visit our website or contact our Customer Service. any other way? -
02-10-2007, 15:34
Got the same newsletter.
Is there any OTHER way? With some services you can dial your mobile and press asterisk or hash and get in. And what if I wait until next summer when I return to Europe where rates are more reasonable? The same point I was going to make.....every other UM sim card I've had, you ring the number and press # to personalize with the temporary pin they provided....it's damn expensive to call from the USA......

The language is German and from the little (very little I might add) German I understand it is saying this is the mailbox and then repeats the number and basically says, I think, that you are unavailable and to call back later.....pressing either * or # does no good; as they said you will have to call to activate voice mail from your handset and it does not seem possible to personalize the thing by calling the number and using the temporary password they put on the sim card carrier.

No...I understand...the point is I would like to set it up by calling the number, pressing the # key, entering the temporary pin code they sent and set it up that way...calling the voice mail number from the USA is too expensive and it would probably cost at least a 2 minute call...what they did wrong here is they sent everybody the same temporary pin number and are not allowing this...in the past you could set up UM voice mail by calling the UM number, pressing #, entering the last 4 digits of the PUK code as the temporary pin and setting it up...the current system was set up not to allow this.

As for the Voipbuster rates -- I know the website lists more, I'm just reported what was deducted from my account. It may be that they don't realize (yet) that the IoJ numbers a mobiles. Its funny -- I was checking my CallBackWorld call detail: When I was in Germany last month I used it to my T-D1 number and I was charged as a callback to a landline. Not complaining |
