Default India trip - 14-09-2014, 15:26

I will be going to India in the next few weeks. Which is the best provider to get when I am there? I will be mainly in New Delhi, but will travel to either the Nepal or Bangladesh border. Will not cross the border.

India AIRTEL is good for 3G Internet

Call to any Indian number R1.2 / minute (rounded per second)
incoming calls - free
SMS within India from R1 - R1.5 / SMS
Call USA direct dialing R8 / minute (rounded per minute)
Internet bundles: 1GB = R249 2GB=R449 4GB = R749

If you cross area from Delhi to another area in India so you will be in so called national roaming:
in national roaming all over India
Indian calls R1.5 minute
Internet bundles - valid all over India without additional charge
Calls USA or other countries - also you dial the same as in Delhi and the price is the same
incoming calls R0.75 minute

you can also activate two plans for national roaming:
R5 \ day - send SMS ROAM to number 121 so till the end of the same day you have free incoming calls and R0.90 minute outgoing calls
or R79 \ month - 30 days free incoming and R0.90 outgoing

If you want you can purchase activated sim card in advance here

Thanks for the information. I was leaning toward Vodafone, but this might be the way to go. Have you done business with the seller on e-bay that you listed?
