Default friends&family by vistream (interesting for roaming) - 16-01-2007, 08:51

Hello,
another vistream brand is running in germany which has very nice roaming rates. The zones structure is compareable with sunsim and che-mobil but the rates are lower. You can buy the card for 20 Euro including the full 20 Euro of initial credit.

http://friends.vistream.de

Rates in germany:
landlines: 10ct/min
own net: 15ct/min
other networks: 20ct/min
SMS 15ct
GPRS 4,9 Euro/MB (100k-increments)

Roaming:

from and to Zone 1, 2 and 3: 39ct/min
incoming calls Zone 1, 2 and 3: 19ct/min.

Starting zones: http://friends.vistream.de/Documents/Startlaender.pdf

landing zones: http://friends.vistream.de/Documents/Ziellaender.pdf

This might be interesting for some travellers.

Thanks very much for this, it looks very appealing. My German is very poor so could you confirm that I've understood the roaming rates correctly? For example am I correct in saying that I would pay only €0.39 per minute to call UK from France and €0.19 per minute to receive?

Also could you find out how those of us not based in Germany could buy one of these and top-up etc?

Many thanks.

Yes, correct.
But please note that many mobile destinations (also UK mobile) are put in zone 5 which will cost 99ct/min -- so only the landline rates are cheap mostly.

I'll try to find out if and how you can order without a german adress.

Chris

Yes. You need a german postal adress to get the card delivered.

Recharge can be made either via bank transfer to a german account or by credit card (on the hotline or automatic recharge if the balance drops between a defined value).
