Is it harder to buy a SIM in Italy -

I heard that there are new restrictions on U.S. travelers buying a SIM in Italy. Is this correct?

Not only for US travellers, EU citizens as well! -

For buying a SIM anyone will need a Codice Fiscale. Take a look on PrePaidGSM: Italy for more info on this matter.

No new restrictions at all; it's always the same, you just need the usual Codice Fiscale.
