Default How to top-up an 02 simcard if your not from the UK? - 24-09-2008, 10:18

I got a 02 uk sim card yesterday. I'm trying to top it up now, but unfortunately you need to have a credit card registered on a UK adres. Is there any website where I can buy top-up credit for 02 uk, where I can pay with a non_uk registered credit card or with pay pal? In the Netherlands there are loads of sites doing this, for Dutch sims, but I didn't succeed in finding a British site doing the same.

Just found out that top up cards of these providers work as well:
Germany (O2)
Ireland (O2)
Spain (Orange)
Denmark (Sononfon)
Italy (Wind)
Hungary (Pannon)
Norway (Telenor)
Switzerland (Sunrise)

Does anybody know where you can buy these top up codes online? I know in the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan there are possibillities for it, but haven't found a possibillity for the afore mentioned countries.

I spoke to O2 customer services, and there might also be:

Austria: T-mobile and telering
Switzerland: Swisscom and Sunrise
Spain: Movistar and Vodafone, but not Orange

but I'm not that confident in what she was saying, after she repeated the suggestion to use a credit card, I asked her if she herself had a Dutch or German credit card, and she asked what that had to do with it.

I think you can get German top-ups on a site that people have mentioned on here, but without checking I don't remember the name

But you might as well wait until you get here, and in between just use it a slight amount every 180 days, as the requirement to stay valid is usage not top-ups

I emailed the source of my SIM card and asked her if she'd get me top-ups. She charged me an extra quid, but I didn't mind. You can also get O2 top-ups directly off eBay.

CA: SaskTel, Wind postpaid; Rogers, Bell postpaid iPad flex plans; US: T-Mobile postpaid data, prepaid voice; PureTalk (AT&T MVNO) prepaid voice/data; AT&T prepaid iPad plan

I've been to Germany today and while I was there I bought some credit for O2. I tried to top up from Germany, but when I chose top up with a voucher from a star alliance member (or something like that) I was told I chose the wrong code (select 1/2/2 in the menu as I remember well). Back in the Netherlands I tried again but there the complete option was gone. With another phone I called customer service and the lady on the other side was so friendly top up my german O2 cards for me.

Quite a bit of work for a top up
