Default Phone for use with UM+ - 13-03-2008, 01:30

I'm looking for a cheap triband Nokia or SE that my mom can use with a UM+ sim and dial direct from keypad without having to go into the menu. Can anyone recommend a model? Thanks a lot.

Why does it have to be an SE or a Nokia?

SE K610i works.

Motorola RAZR V3 works. Cheap. Great phone. Quad-band too.

Thanks PhotoJim, I'll get hold of the SE610i. I'm not too fond of motorola etc as I always seem to have reception problems with those phones, maybe just bad luck on my part.

I have really good luck with my RAZR.

That having been said, I love my K610i. I wish it had EDGE (its 3G isn't compatible with the 3G here in North America, although it was very handy when I was in the UK) but the reception quality of GSM is very good.

The phone lacks GSM 850, unfortunately, but the GSM 1900 coverage here is very good so it isn't a big issue.

My wife uses her UM + sim with a Nokia 6610. They're available on ebay for around $50.
