I have just ccontacted their customer support and they say if I wan to use the account from several IP phones ( in my case my home IP and Pbx) the IP addresse need to be authenticated. While I canget the IP address of my phone =, how do I know which IP address will be using PBx?

Strange I have voicetrading running on my frtizbox at home and also on pbxes. I can use both at the same time and both have different ip.

You don't want to authenticate your ip address not at pbxes because this is an ipaddress used by many other users.

See this info from their site:

I can't connect to your SIP server by using username & Password. Can I connect by using fixed IP addresses?
Yes, you can authenticate your fixed IP addresses by choosing 'IP config' in the myaccount area.

Important! If you are using a hosted VoiP softswitch provider like eq. Kayote Networks (etc), make sure you are ONLY using IP addresses which are uniquely assigned to your account (check this with you provider). This is to prevent that other users of the same VoiP softswitch provider are able to use your balance.

so only when you can't use username and password you need to autenticate your ip. But as you see when you do that you need to be the only one on that ip otherwise others can also use your account.

How many simultaneous calls can I setup?
Voicetrading does not limit the number of simultaneous calls. The only limit is the bandwidth of your local internet link.

I would also advice to use a number for the trunk, example 32 than 0045xxx so instead of filling in 00 country code number add 32 before it. This way even when someone does find your online link it's more difficult to misuse it. In the outbound dial rules you can than have the 32 removed when dialing.

Below is how to setup this (is also on the pbxes forum)

go to inbound routing / addd incoming route

under trunk use your: username-callback (instead of callback you can also use another name)
click on callthru pin and set a pin number (choose carefull as an easy number can be misuded, I suggest 4 to 8 numbers)

Go to extensions:

add a new extension
set url (new feature) choose your name you want to use for pbxes.org/yourname

save and go back to the extension
change device options dial:
and replace by SIP/username-callback@pbxes.com (if you choose another name instead of callback please use that)




I have setup almost all. Just some question regarding the lines above.
I have setup the inbound route, under trunk myname-callback (not a number)
In extensions have setup as SIP/myname-callback@pbxes.com (same as before)
Is this correct or need to replace SIP with something else? Also used my name as username and not a number.

Don't think you need to setup an extenstion.

You need to setup.

1 trunk for inbound calls, your italian DID number
Thank set inbound routing for that trunk. use the trunk name for inbound routing and select callback and than callback number

1 trunk four outbound routing, voicetrading
Outbound routing rule to dial outside.

You only need an extension if you want to to webbased callback.

I did all that. Just on outbound routing with route name voicetrading, have set destination clicked on valid all numbers without any other setting. Is that ok? Is this the rule to dial outside?

I also setup an extension for webased callback as you described. Regarding this I set up as incoming route username-calback then call thru pin and set it. In extension I setup ext 200 and in device option dial SIP/username-callabck@pbxes.com. Is that correct or I need to change SIP with something else?

One more general question. When I trigger the callback calling my DID, will I be charged 2 calls from my voicetrading account, one to my callback number and the other to the number dialled out. Correct? Or only for 1 call, the one dialled out?

You will always be charged 2 calls. that said.

If the callback is triggered and you answer the call starts to be charged.
Than you have a dialtone and dial a number. When the number is busy you will not be charged for that call but the first call will still be charged till you hang up.
If the other party asnwers the call you will be charged for both.

If you say valid for all numbers, it's ok and you should be able to dialout, just make some test calls as see.
As for the webbased callback, follow the guide and it should work.

Here is a slight advantage to their Java client then, as non-answer at a destination cost me nothing for the first leg to my mobile, only a 1c fee.

Would like to thank bbob for your help in setting me up on pbxes. I will test the callback as soon as they upgrade my account to soho, and also andy for your input and suggesting a viable alternative for betamax callback.
