Default O2 Jet phone - 10-02-2007, 18:36

I would like to find out if anyone of you is using O2 Jet phone. If so, how do you like this handset? Is there any chance to get this phone simlock free or unlock it?

if you want it unlocked you may be able to flash it 'HOWEVER' this will void the warranty and i do not endorse this, your best course of action is to see if 02 will sell it to you plus the unlock code!

also the phone is an 02 branded phone, i really dont know if its able to be unlocked! also for £59.99p payg, thats not a lot, email 02 and see if they will sell it to you! (best course of action imo!)

Thanks Malkav. The problem wasn't to purchase the phone. And in meantime I have found the way how to unlock it. I am tempted by the fact that batteries last that long on this phone. This is very handy when you are travelling.

Malkav,

I don't suppose you could elaborate on how one might flash the O2 Jet - I have an unlocked model, but can not use the internet because of the built-in settings around its settings.

Respectfully,
Jacob M.

Apart from manually changing the settings on the phone to your new providors settings there is not as yet a way (I am aware) of flashing it, it is an 02 exclusive in house phone, i am not entirely sure if there is generic software for it, try manually changing the settings on your phone and post here what happens!

No dice, I'm afraid. I am a subscriber to AT&T and have tried to configure the O2 Jet many times. I've even been in contact with O2 technical support; they couldn't help me with changing the Gateway IP error that I got when trying to access the internet with the phone.

Its too bad. I will still use the O2 Jet: it has all the features I want (great battery, quad-band & bluetooth), but I was spoiled by the easy configuration and great documentation available for the Motorola RAZR. Ah well.

Peace,
Jacob M.
