Hi,

I am looking to buy a 3G/GPRS card to use with a Wind SIM for data access around Europe - does anyone have any experience of this?

In particular, are the Vodafone Mobile Connect Cards (prepay or contract) SIM locked?

Any advice or experiences with roaming data cards would be very welcome...

Thanks,
Edmund

I don't have any experience with 3G cards, but I do have a SonyEricsson GC89 EDGE/GPRS card and am quite pleased with it.

If cost is a factor and are willing to go GPRS only, you should be able to find the older GC75 or its Dell branded clone, the TrueMobile 5100 for under $40 on eBay.

AndreA had a Vodafone connect card and used it with Wind, so I suppose they are not locked, unless he unlocked it by himself!
Anyway you can find easily an unlocked one on eBay which supports GPRS/EDGE/UMTS and maybe WiFi...

The reason I ask is that the Linksys WRT54G3G router only works with the vodafone cards - so that would be best.
