I think I might buy a SIM from T-Mob, VIP or Tele2 because at least they have shops I can visit where they can make sure it all works!

EDIT:

BonBon support have sorted it. Seems I just needed to make a call and all was well
Yes, you must activate SIM with first call.

Do you maybe know of some operator in Croatia with reasonable prices for daily internet (say, 3 days 150MB each) and which can be kept alive for 1 year as cheap as possible?

Mobile internet sim cards:
INT: abroadband, NL: Simyo, *bliep, BE: Colruyt Mobile, MEDIONmobile, LUX: Orange, PL: mBank Mobile,
DE: Congstar, MEDIONmobile, IE: Vodafone, CH: OK Mobil, SwissCom, SE: Telia, ES: MásMovil,
GR: Cosmote, IT: TIM, RO: Vodafone, RS: mt:s, BY: Privet, UA: Kievstar, MD: Moldcell

Feel free to consult me about sim cards in the Benelux and Poland.

It is BonBon (MNVO of t-MOBILE).
I describe their daily package (Dnevni paket) in this thread, post #2.
300 MB/3 kn daily --- it is the best internet option in Croatia for short time usage.
When you put on it voucher of 160 kn, it valid 360 days (+ 90 days of passive usage).
Greetings
Zvone B.

BonBon voucher of 10 kn valid 10 days + 90 days of passive usage, total 100 days, and for one year year (400 days), you need 4x 10 kn voucher

Thanks for your help!

Yes I knew about the BonBon offer, but I was hoping there would be something more interesting / cheaper to keep alive.

I see Vipme now also has a daily offer: 1GB for 10 Kuna. Now PrePaidGSM: Croatia states that the validity is 6 moths + 6 months to recharge, but I cannot find this on the site of Vipme. Could you perhaps point me to it?

Also, how is the network coverage in Croatia? I will be travelling so a good network would be nice.

6 month validity after voucher's validity date is not correct, validity is 270 days _(nine monhs). So you must every nine months recharge with minimal voucher of 15 kn

Vip - Sve zbog vas

Coverage of VIP is very good

Vip - Sve zbog vas

Thanks!

Looks like I have found myself my operator for in Croatia.
You mentioned 15 kuna, but the site mentioned 30 kuna minimal (which is valid for 8 days + 270 days), how does that look like?

Vip - Sve zbog vas
look under "At Vip Points of sale".
Validity of 15 kn voucher is 3 days, I think. But it is 3+270 days

I'm in Dubrovnik now and using VIPme, but I didn't see the 1GB for 10 Kuna offer. How do I activate that? I'm using the 200MB for 30 Kuna (by sending SURFL SMS).

Please advise.
