Are you taking your mobile phone with you on your next business trip or holiday abroad? If so, did you know that you may pay to receive calls, or that you could pay enormously more to call home? If you want a better deal, we want to help.
Sounds like prepaidgsm's motto, doesn't it?

Well, it's not: it is Viviane Reding's words, Commissioner for Information Society and Media.

I found this website by coincidence, and thought I should point it out to you (in case you are not aware about its existence). I dont' want to say that I do not appreciate the effort, but I think that they should have provided a bit more comprehensive information.

In other words, I think Prepaidgsm is doing, with a much smaller budget, a much better job than EC in providing good information about reducing roaming charges!!

So what about having Effendi as the next Commissioner?

There is ONE good hint in the "How to get a better deal" page:
Consider buying a local SIM card. Your number will change while you are away but you will only pay local rates for your outgoing calls.
... but it should have been accompanied by a link to prepaidgsm! :P
