For $39 you could buy a TIM card in the US through Telestial. http://www.telestial.com/view_produc...T_ID=LSIM-IT01

However, on there it says it doesn't do data... but I think it does. Maybe someone else could advise more.

By the way I think if you were to buy the same card in Italy it would only be €10.
