Default New price war on Swiss prepaid market - 26-11-2007, 14:44

Dear PreaidGSM friends,

not shure if you have hear about the latest additions to the swiss prepaid gsm market.

About 14 days ago, the german discounter ALDI startet it's own prepaid service called "salut mobile" (www.salut-mobile.ch) on the sunrise network. They started a new price discussion about prepaid gsm cards because they offer prices on network and to fixed net in Switzerland for CHF 0.14 and to any other swiss network for CHF 0.34. It is not possible to port-in existing phonenumber, GRPS cost's CHF 5.00 per MB.

Today, 26th of November, after long period of rumours and long awaited, the self claimed cheapest no frills gsm operator "M-budget-mobile" from Migros, working on the swisscom network responed by lowering the rates.

M-Budget-Mobile calls will cost CHF 0.28 (about 0.16 Euro) to any swiss network and to any european network, call originating from home network. Roaming has also been lowered to EU-roaming prices in October - charging CHF 0.40 for incoming-roaming calls and CHF 0.85 for outgoing-roaming calls.

The only missing point is the lack of data availability and no voicemail included. All new and remaining custoumers will be charged with the new rates from today on.
