I seem to recall this happening a few years back - also over the Xmas/New Year holiday - I think they are just indicating they are closed for the holidays.
Motorhome WiFi are open for business -
http://www.motorhomewifi.com/ - so they may be a better - and slightly cheaper - option for a EuropaSIM card.
