The phone has hotspots @ home (wifi).
I read reports that it will connect to wifi with the phone in airplane mode allowing a person to make free international calls.
Does this work for calls from Europe back to the US?

What if I have a SIM card in it other than T-Mo?

The phone is unlocked.
