Orange are remarkably slow in unlocking phones. They often take longer than their own timescales and often more than 30 days in breach of
Regulation 19 of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. Therefore it is often possible to pay Orange upfront for an unlocking service, wait for them to exceed their quoted timescale, chase them up to unlock it and then once it is done, demand a refund under Regulation 19(2)(b).
