DTAC has a new Tourist SIM for Thailand that has some great features. It's great cause it's good for 7 days out of the box, so no need to fumble with top ups for a while. It's the most tourist friendly of the 3 networks, with good English support. The speeds and coverage is as good as the others.

I've now got them up on Amazon here. You can get them at the normal outlets, including the Bangkok airport (sometimes there can be long lineups).

For 3G Data packages on the new TriNet system, any DTAC SIM can take advantage of these if there is enough credit on the phone. To sign up you just enter these USSD codes in the phone. The "*9" at the end returns the SMS in English.
