I think we discussed this before under the Piranha thread...
I'd go with Piranha for calling and reasonable data in Europe, but consider Vodafone as well (or backup) for their GBP2 for 25MB/day data...

I use the Acrobits dialer as well, good quality even on 3G, better than skype. And 2 free inbound numbers, US and UK.
VOIP via Acrobits/Piranha using data via Vodafone on my mifi is best way to go!...

yep, I have a fixed UK number on each Truphone...
yep, I have a fixed UK number on each Truphone sim card (one for the wife!), and we'd just turn them on and pay $8 each for the 1-2 trips back to the old country each year. Not sure if it costs them...
