i have been fooled by united mobile twice till now. i stopped using it due to annoying reasons : i recharged my card & chekd it after 5 minutes & it said that my units wer expired. you cant trust anyone these days .

i bought Talafone international card & i think its a geat , money-saving card. Their rates are much cheaper than anyone . they have free incoming calls ( which is VERY rare) .

A yahoo search for talafone included with almost every article the word scam...also it's funny that nobody else has ever had the trouble you are describing with united mobile.

Dear Mr Mohammed and Mr M'salka

Perhaps it would be better for this company to launch its new product without character assassination of other companies and their management

sec 31-03-2006 23:38

This is clearly another message like the ones that appeared in the past publicising a new product...

I found http://talafone.com/talafonemobility/index_inter.php

Plenty of information on the tarifs: 0,50 outgoing, 0 incoming in most countries (poresumably 60/60?).

From there I clicked on the "middle east reseller" (Xfone) - probably the author of the post, but couldn't find any information on the nationality of the gsm number provided.

However, one of the pictures contained in the pdf product descriptionshows a number starting with +44 762...! :D

My question is: why resellers, rather than just saying "hey, I'm selling a great product that you can find on the followign website..." have to write messages like this... :ranting2: If I am mistaken, I apologize with kaisersuzeh, but If I am right I bet we won't hear from him again.

Andy, quite honestly I doubt talafone's CEO would send himself posts to forums.... and who is Mr. M'salka?

Anyway, appreciated your humour (very british) !

M'salka posted Talafone on another forum on 13th March

Apologies for my inaccuracy though

Perhaps instead this is Maurice Al Frenn of X-fone, from Beirut

Interesting that the country list includes Palestine denoted by the initials ISR

I think you are lying about the SIM problem, and it seems very unlikely to be a coincidence that your location matches the registrant of the X-fone affiliate website.

And you are certainly lying about the relative level of Talafone 50c and UM 39c tariffs

The thread on Howard Forums was deleted within minutes of me reporting it, and I'll do the same here, although I half-hope it will stay to warn people off dealing with companies with such low ethical standards.

I hate black PR, but Andy - be honest about tariffs!
Of course, "Their rates are much cheaper than anyone" it's a shameless lie.
But, it seems that Talafone doesn't apply any surcharges on mobile destinations or setup/first minute fees. So, first minute from UM to landlines costs al least 64 cents, first two minutes ast least 103 cents (51.5 cents/min). Only after 2 minutes UM is getting better than Tala. And some countries (UK, Ukraine, Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia) has even better rates: 30-40 cents/min.

Personally, I think this offer has something to do with GT-SIM as they both use the same website design to choose the SIM card phone number.

andy 01-04-2006 22:14

but GTsim doesn't have the free incoming calls - maybe they both copied some detail from elsewhere
