Tmobile activity and data limits

I have a tmobile UK paygo sim.

1) As I understand it, I need activity every six months to keep the account active. Does topping up count as activity or do I need to make a call or send a text? I'm in the US, so I'd rather not have to call or text.

2) If I top up £15 in one month, I get 500mb free the next month (top up now, get data from 1 October). If I use up that 500mb, can I then pay £5 for a week of internet or do I have to wait to get more data?

thanks

I thought it was 90 days.

I don't think topping up counts, but I'm interested in the answer to this as well, as I just spent 40p sending a text to keep my SIM alive.

My SIM might be older with different terms - I text WEB to 441 and pay £2.50 for one week and text MONTHWEB to 441 and pay £5.00 for 30 days, I think for unlimited data but I have never measured my usage.

See page 21 of http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/resour...S_30.07.12.pdf

You must make a connection action at least once
every 180 days. If you do not, your SIM card will be
disconnected from the network, and you will not be
able to use the service at all. You will also lose your
mobile phone number. Any credit on your account
at the time of disconnection will be forfeited.
‘Connection actions’ are:
– Making a chargeable outbound call
– Sending a text message
– Topping up your account
– Making a payment for a value added service
– Registering your details
– Making/sending or receiving a Family Booster
call, text or picture message

I'm trying to decide if it makes sense to switch to one of the current plans. I joined a few years ago and can't figure out my terms, but so far I don't see any downside to the newer plans. Texting to non-UK seems to cost 20p now, while I just got charged 50p. It turns out I don't get next month free unless I join a new plan before topping up.

Re Texts

My understanding was that ALL texts to E.U. numbers were capped at 11p ?

P.S. Does anyone know if a T mobile payg sim can be used in a phone and a dongle (obviously not at the same time!).
