Last year I got some useful advice re buying SIM cards from Briezh (www.breizhmobile.com) and they were delivered to an address in France near where we were staying on holiday and worked very well for our purposes.

These have expired now and we are soon revisiting Normandy and intend repeating the exercise and ordering 2 more SIMs.

Before I proceed, I just wondered if anyone had come across a better deal - the Breizh current price seems to be (from a google translation) ?9.90 per SIM which comes with ?5.00 of credit.

Thanks for any help,

John

The NRJ SIM has different expiry terms, similar to UK ones in only needing use every 6 months and not necessarily a top-up. If you'll be going back again later this might be worth looking at, and you can maybe send one sms to keep it valid

Breizh Mobile costs 9,90? and comes with 5? of credit. There are 10? and 25? vouchers, that give you 2 months to make calls and 8 (2+6) months to receive calls. You can top up only by buying vouchers (only few salespoints in the north-west of France) - no internet or credit card top up. The cost for a call to France is 0,48?/min, 0,10?/SMS.

NRJ Mobile costs 15? and comes with 6? of credit. There are 10?, 20? and 30? vouchers without term of validity if you make at least one call (toll free numbers and SMS excluded) every 6 months. You can top up by buying vouchers (only few salespoints), on their website, by credit card (previous registration via customer care or website required) or on some banking automats (banks Credit Mutuel or CIC). The cost for a call to France is 0,55?/min, 0,10?/SMS.

Well, NRJ is a little mor expensive, but easier to top up... Coverage is correct for both NRJ (SFR network) and Breizh (Orange Fr network).

That's not true that you can't top up from the web.
On their site (www.breizhmobile.com) you can buy a top up code, delivered on your mobile.

Autant pour moi...

It didn't exist when I bought a Breizh Mobile last year... At that time, I had to order a voucher which was delivered 3 or 4 days later.

I have a Breizh Mobile sim card since october 2004 and I always topped up that way...

Thanks for the info.
Anyone know whether the SIMs have to be signed for when delivered ( so I can warn the people in France whose address I'll be using)?

Thanks,

John

Hi all,

I need some help regarding Breizh mobile.
I have a french address for it to be posted to, but not a french debit/credit card. This means that when I put my billing address in (which is english) it does not accept it, because it is not an entirely numerical code (like the french post codes are). How would I go about buying one of these sims? Does anyone know if anywhere in Paris stocks them so I could just go in and buy one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Sarah

Do they have email supoort for customer care OR a phone # to call?

I have actually called both German and Malta providers' customer care. I DO speak German and in Malta they speak English.

Just an idea.

Perhaps it is impossible to pay with a non-French credit card. I am TOLD that some German prepaid sellers will only allow German credit cards to top-up online.

I had to FAX my credit card info to Malta for them to refill my card.

Hi there, thanks for your response.
I've sent them an email. I speak quite good french so hopefully I'll get a response. If I don't hear in the next few days I think I'll chance giving them a call. I did consider just sticking in the numbers from my post code in the post code box and then putting my postcode in the address box. But i'll see what they say before I try it. Failing that, I guess I'll have to ask my aunt if she would mind buying it for me as she has a french card. Then I can pay her back. Very confusing all this!!
The other thing I'm worried about is, although I can top up online, if I cant buy the sim with an english debit/credit card, am I going to be able to buy top ups!!
