Now I'm waiting for their first prepaid offer :P

Nice to see that countries other than Germany are starting to pick up the pace in forming new MVNOs.

Yes, but not for the swiss point of view :P Swiss people has a better quality life than german and other european countries... for a swiss 25 ?ct./min. are less than 10 for a italian ;)

This might be of interest to you, In&Phone have signed a roaming agreement with SUNRISE that grant a national and international roaming with sunrise that include data (gprs, umts and edge) and voice.

I don't deny your words.
However, if "real world op" (i.e. the one that provides roaming agreements) for 09 is from Iceland, this would be very strange because obviously each of the Icelandic ops can roam in Switzerland.

I remeber that somebody (AndreA?) complained about problem with gt-sim in Switzerland.

I wouldn't like to be considered as a pranoid but there may be some Swiss conspiracy against international SIMs other than UM :P

Yes, I had troubles with GT in Switzerland but only for outgoing calls.... also i don't believe that they have a conspiracy against international SIMs other than UM :P

Also very soon i'll test all of my international sim card again in Switzerland :construction:

<span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>National GSM Roaming Agreement in Switzerland</span>

Switzerland'd sunrise has signed a national roaming agreement with the new GSM mobile phone provider in&phone. The partnership - the first of its kind in Switzerland - will enable in&phone to provide its customers with national mobile phone services.

The national roaming agreement, signed by sunrise and in&phone, brings together a national GSM provider and a specialized GSM partner for the first time in Switzerland. in&phone holds a GSM license and works in the area of campus solutions on company premises and within company offices. This national roaming agreement with sunrise will enable in&phone to offer its customers mobile phone services across the whole of Switzerland while strengthening the wholesale activities of sunrise.

"sunrise is just the partner we've been looking for. Its state-of-the-art mobile network for GSM and GPRS services with national coverage, coupled with its wide range of fixed network products, is precisely what our customers need to expand their campus networks", explains Alois Widmann, CEO of in&phone.

So it seems that In&Phone is doing something very similar to Spring Mobile in Sweden, i.e. ad operator which installs its net only for industries, where they ask it, and go on national roaming everywhere else.

AndreA 23-01-2006 09:12

In fact they're looking for that work...

Seems a bit like another brand for Yallo... isn't it?

AndreA 23-01-2006 19:28

it's less expensive than Yallo... also it's very similar but this is "normal" in Switzerland :D

CoopMobile & Orangeclick have pratically the same offer while Cablecom is not so close to Yallo :P

At least it's very interesting to have a so low price to Liechtenstein... for a Cablecom customer is more expensive to call another Swiss GSM network than United Mobile :D

And it's more expensive to call 0800 than another Swiss GSM network :D

AndreA 12-08-2006 08:53

Well, I stayed in Switzerland last July and I have some interesting news to update.

OrangeClick - operator web-based - now is available at an InterDiscount shop or at an Orange Center. The option SMS (0.10 CHF instead 0.25) is free but NOT automatic, so you have to set it in your account.

Yallo has the best intertional prices. Now they have only 1 price: 0.39CHF for national and european calls. Great! Then 0.05 CHF / min. between Yallo customers. The only pity is that they don't accept incoming MNP.

Then a strange thing... in Lausanne and Vevey I "lost" the coverage of In&Phone, maybe they were testing something... but I didn't see their coverage from 10th to 18th July... really strange :P

Other news: Switzerland has another MVNO. <span style='color:red'>MobileZone</span> ( http://www.mobilezonenet.ch )

snaimon 15-09-2006 02:49

https://www.yallo.ch/kp/dyn/web/pub/home/home.do

It seems that all calls to European destinations and some other destinations from with CH are now 39 rappen (~.25 Euros).

Roaming is still a bit pricey: 80 rappen (.5 Euros) inbound in Europe and 2 SF (1.2 Euros) outside Europe. Outbound is more, obviously.

AndreA 29-12-2006 16:00

Wind and... In&Phone

I'm actually in Lausanne and... my Wind sim cards are roaming on In&Phone

Wind seems to be the only network at this moment according with them... the other simcards (italian and not) can't use I&P coverage, so strange :) Another nice thing: I don't pay any incoming/outgoing call while i'm roaming on their network

AndreA 29-12-2006 16:11

Checking networks in this moment (LAUSANNE, VD)

8 GSM:
  • Orange CH
  • In&Phone
  • Swisscom
  • Tele2 CH
  • Sunrise
  • Orange FR
  • SFR
  • Bouygues
5 UMTS:
  • Orange CH
  • Swisscom
  • Sunrise
  • Orange FR
  • SFR
:p

AndreA 08-01-2007 22:57

New info: Tele2 has a larger coverage and only not more in Zurich. Just found in Lausanne (and its hinterland, Renens too for example) and Geneva!

GSM-Fan 11-01-2007 20:13

Add Basel to the coverage map of Tele2, found it when I was there after the christmas holidays. The network can be found around the convention center area and the German railway station but not in the city center. Neighbour channels were also present.

micannese 24-03-2007 15:19

There is an interesting battle between the swiss operators actually:

M-Budget
has announced a new price this week. It is now 0.34 CHF / min (https://www.m-budget-mobile.ch/MBudget/). Tele2 replies with 0.33 CHF / min! (http://tele2.ch/fr/index.php)

AndreA 01-04-2007 15:39

thanks micannese!

So now Tele2 is the cheapest one..

micannese 04-04-2007 12:16

In theory Tele2 is the cheapest one, but the debiting method is different: 60/10 vs 10/1 for M-Budget. So for a call of 10 seconds M-Budget is still the winner with a cost of 0.06 CHF vs 0.33 CHF for Tele2.

Another info comes from Coop Mobile. They have a new price from the 2nd april 2007: 0.36 CHF/min instead of 0.39 CHF/min (http://www.coop.ch/coopmobile/).

The game is not over...

micannese 07-02-2008 16:08

Yallo.ch - New Tariffs for International Calls

Yallo changed its tariffs for international calls from Switzerland. You can now call the european countries listed below at only CHF 0.25/min!

France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Spain, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Serbia/Kosovo, Turkey, Ukraine

Other countries: from CHF 0.35 to CHF 1.55/min

Complete list here: https://www.yallo.ch/kp/dyn/web/pub/...?cont=product3

AndreA 07-02-2008 20:48

0.25 CHF!? Amazing

Next travel to Switzerland I "need" a Yallo!

andy 08-02-2008 00:21

I see your 25 Rappen/cents, but ...

int'l landlines 19 cents on Lebara

AndreA 08-02-2008 09:39

you are right Andy, but Yallo's 0.25 is good for mobiles too

In my opionion this a great deal :) So great that, if you live on the border, Yallo is better than an italian simcard to call and send sms to... Italy

ahhh, very good, that will teach me to reply without checking the Yallo site! :???::lol: ...... oh, but Grossbritannien is 35c

and I didn't see the Lebara night-tariff before - USA is 9 cents, but the offer seems to go only to the end of Feb

AndreA 05-01-2009 10:25

Lebara Mobile Switzerland

Lebara Mobile CH is really interesting: International Calls - Lebara Mobile

andy 06-01-2009 13:25

You're right - their int'l landlines are now from 9c.

Lycamobile has very similar tariffs to Lebara, and they both have bonus credit offers

Aclan 28-06-2009 11:43

Help me understand this offer correctly:
I'm going to Switzerland in two weeks for holidays. I've been searching for an interesting PAYG offer when I've discovered this:
https://www.sunrise.ch/privatkunden/...ohneabo/go.htm
Quote:

Die Sunrise Promo-Prepaid-SIM-Karte öffnet Ihnen kostenlos den Zugang zu Sunrise go dayflat, dem attraktivsten Prepaid-Angebot der Schweiz!

Angebot

* Gratis erhältlich in jedem Sunrise center
* CHF 5.– Gratis-Gesprächsguthaben zum 5-Tage-lang-Ausprobieren
* Beim Wechsel zu Sunrise Prepaid behalten Sie Ihre Mobiltelefonnummer.

So einfach funktionierts

* SIM-Karte in einem Sunrise center gratis registrieren
* SIM-Karte ins Handy einlegen
If I understand this correcly, I can go to the Sunrise store, ask for a free SIM with 5CHF on the account already, pop it in the mobile and use it for 5 days? Just for that, no strings attached, no Swiss ID necessary? It sounds to good to be true...

PhotoJim 28-06-2009 18:52

Passport necessary, but not Swiss ID. I had to show my passport to get my Swisscom Mobile SIM in '07.

Aclan 17-08-2009 20:33

Okay, so a short user feedback on the free Sunrise SIM: It's marvelous :)

I've 'bought' the sim in Zurich in the July and it works ever since. To future users: Rememer that apart from free 5CHF calling credit you also get 200 prontomax points as a welcome gift. By accessing your Sunrise e-account through the Internet you can change those to additional 2CHF calling credit :)
