EKit and Canada

Have they gotten rid of free incoming in Canada on their UK number?

Which SIM do you have?

Well, since they have a lot of different SIMs: which one do you have?

Upon further looking, ekit does not seem to have any free incoming to Canada, and I do not recall them ever having it.

The dual IMSI Passports (which are free incoming in the US on the UK number) absolutely used to be free incoming in Canada. I spend a fair amount of time in Canada and had chatted with a forum member on this forum who is exceptionally knowledgeable in who lives in Toronto and about how he uses the SIM when he has left the GTA (Greater Toronto Area).

I am quickly losing interest in roaming SIMs because they go bankrupt without notice (Celtrek, 09, United Mobile), change the rules so quickly and wildly that you have to spend all your time keeping up with their changes. This change is from free to well over a US$1 a minute for incoming calls and that is significant. I get the feeling that Canada is now being handled on the global side of the SIM rather than the North American.

Stu, it's still the same for US and Canada. So, not sure where you are looking at. I have the simple calling sim. So, if you log in and check the rates it's still free to receive on the global number.

Rate to receive a call in Canada on the US Number $0.29 per minute^
Rate to receive a call in Canada on the Global Number FREE^

Well contrary to the CS message you just posted.

The SIMple Calling Plus Service sold on eBay by seller ekitmobileusa has free incoming to Canada [and the USA] using the UK phone number.

You need to go to the ekit web site and find the 'SIMple Calling Plus Service' by choosing 'all countries' and shipping to US under the 'SIM cards' choice. Then use the 'rate finder' and choose Canada for 'from' to see the free rate. I just tested this [in the USA] and the incoming call was free.
By the way, the above method is the only way I know to get the 'SIMple Calling Plus Service' to show up.

And the $9 at eBay is better than the $59 at the ekit website <g>.

May be you have a different card than the simple calling one then. As posted, it's the one for $9 on eBay. It shipped gor $3 then. Not sure what shipping is now.

Edit: Stu, I just read your response above that you have a different card. Don't know about the rates on that card.

I just received this email:

Dear Stuart,

Thank you for contacting Customer Service.

I am so sorry, I made a big mistake here: it IS free to receive a call while in Canada on your Global number and .19c a minute to receive a call on your US number.

Please do accept my apologies for that misunderstanding.

If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Kind regards,
