Italy with a Verizon Razr HD
 

In Nicaragua a year ago I got the Verizon extended plan- everything they could crush me for at something like a 2 buck a minute rate added up to a giant bill when I got back to the U.S.!

I'll be in Tuscany (mostly) in a month. Although my phone is predominately a business phone, I'll find a workaround by leaving messages on my phone and office phone saying I'm not available by phone although I can be reached by email. My laptop and the internet connections at the property I'll be in near Cortona will allow that to happen. What I would like to do based upon everything I'm reading here is to change the SIM in my Verizon Droid Razr HD with a pre-purchased SIM from an Italian company to get use of the GPS and phone services along with data use in Italy. Sounds like almost all of you here can steer me in the right direction?
