Hi all,
the provider "blau" in germany will start a prepaid-card for international calls in April.
Calls to many countries starting with 9ct a minute - western europe and usa will cost 99ct though (would have been too good otherwise. arrr).

Here are the details:
website: http://www.blauworld.de
tariff: http://www.blauworld.de/static/pdf/tarifsp...starttermin.pdf

Good news, but I really don't understand how can they make you pay 99c for calling Western European countries also for landline... I could understand mobiles, but landline has not much sense...

Well, charging unified simple rates of 1.99 or 1.84 EUR for all foreign calls makes even less sense, but most German prepaids so far offer just such rates :P.

But seriously, it's another immigrant-oriented offer (at elast great for thse Poles who often travel or work in Germany).

BTW, Russia mobile rate will have to be UPgraded :D

99c - keine Chance!

It would be interesting using it with a calling card via Poland

... 9c for the call there, plus about 5c to landlines for the ongoing part

I know its a shocking rate - but the normal prepay-rate to foreign countries for german SIM-cards is 1.99 Euro/min flat to any country/network... so already 1 Euro per minute cheaper but still riddiculous...

What number in Poland would you like to call?

It struck me as a way for everyone to avoid all the 99c c tariffs

I meant a Polish calling card access number could be called at the Blau 9c tariff, then the call goes on from there at the calling card tariff.

If this is worthwhile, then we can look up your Polish calling cards info on that thread a while back.

Or try finding some Chinese Japanese or Russian calling cards ...

I see - you mean a Polish "regular" landline access number for a Polish calling card, not 0800 or 00800.... That's OK but I'm afraid there's no Polish cards with regular rates to anywhere as low as 5 eurocents/min :(. But of course, you're right - the 99 cents/min can be easily avoided (even many foreign mobile phones can be reached via Polish calling cards at 40-50 cents/min)
