recharge Vodafone D2

Hello to all,

I wanted to know if you can give a charging Vodafone D2 and pay by credit card on the website vodafone.de

In Italy, on 190.it browsing, you can recharge a regalre which comes instantly to the customer.

Thanks to all and good evening!

You can't directly recharge a Vodafone account by credit card, but you can purchase topup codes online by credit card at Aufladen.de - Die richtige Adresse zum Aufladen!

Its not an answer to the question asked, but you can use a credit card to pay for the Vodafone "Websessions" -- my American Amex works just fine for that.

Actually credit cards are accepted for paying a WebSession but not for recharging the credit of regular CallYa SIM.

You can always use an Italian Vodafone topup, though VF deducts a fee for this.

You will have to call 22 9 22 like in Germany to recharge.

More info in German: Vodafone CallYa - CallNow-Karte im Ausland aufladen - Vodafone D2 - Privat / Ausland / CallYa / Aufladen im Ausland

Attention folks! The small print on the linked page says:
Quote:

Eine ausländische Guthabenkarte muss allerdings auch in dem Land, in dem sie gekauft wurde, aufgeladen werden, eine Aufladung in Deutschland oder einem anderen Land ist nicht möglich. [...]
which means:
Quote:

A foreign topup voucher must however be recharged in the country, where it was bought. Recharging in Germany or in another country in not possible. [...]
So you can't use an Italian topup voucher to recharge a German CallYa SIM while being in Germany.

Thanks for your reply.

So you can not make a recharge on the site of vodafone.de using a regular credit card?

No.

Germans are not big credit card users. Many stores don't accept them (even international ones like Ikea, which take credit cards everywhere else). Most payments of this kind are made by a well-established system of bank transfers. Some of this has to do with the fact that German retailers are often world leaders in competing on price (not service, where they are often clueless) and can't afford the credit card fees. Another reason often heard is that Germans are terrified of taking on debt, after the hyperinflation of 1923. Whatever the reason, the percentage of people holding CCs is still relatively low compared to other industrialized countries, and it's therefore not essential for retailers and others to accept them, which means there's less incentive to hold one. This is why you often see German tourists abroad still trying to use traveler's checks, and it's part of the reason why you can't recharge your Vodafone SIM using one in Germany, but you can elsewhere.
