What to do with the vodafone sim card
Fellow travelers,
I recently went to portugal to ring in the new year. I bought a vodafone sim card to stay in touch with fam and friends. I don't know what is vodafone policy, unfortunately the booklet that was provided to me at the vodafone store in Terminal 1 of the airport is all in portuguese. On my departure date, the vodafone store at the airport was closed as it was 4am. Now I'm stuck with a sim card that has 22 euros left of credit. My question is, can I return the sim card to vodafone to get the 22 euros back? If not, what can I do with this sim card to get those 22 euros? Any information and suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly. SweetYam |

In germany you can get any german prepaid SIM payed out. I dont know how it is in Portugal.
One option would be to sell it to someone who still can use it. Chris |
I think you will find the best that Voda can manage is to transfer the money to another Voda Portugal card, or - possibly - allow you to transfer the credit to another Voda group card account (e.g. Vodafone UK).
TBH I would stick it on eBay and sell it to another traveller visiting that country. THis strategy works for me with rarely visited countries... Steve :) |
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I'll try ebay :).
