24ct/MB??? Wow, that's really a fantastic offer! Great job SIMYO, let's hope also Aldi does the same! :D
Strange that Blau.de hasn't done the same yet...

Yes, it is valid for ALDI cards as well.

And Aldi lowered the prices to 4ct to Aldi and 14ct rest of germany.

Now this tariff is also on Blau.de SIM-cards.
Blauworld still has the old tariff though.
Lets wait one or two days until they all updated their websites...

Excellent news! :)
BTW is e-plus also decreasing the data rates on its own branded offer?

inquisitor 01-02-2007 10:58

Don't forget to mention, that with Medion Mobile cards (sold at Aldi), which are all USIMs, you can use the 24 ct/MB tariff also on the eplus UMTS network. Since eplus hasn't implemented HSDPA so far, bandwidth is limited to 384 KBit/s.

eplus itself hasn't announced any decrease of their data tariffs so far.

Here is a price comparsion of Germany's network operators' current data tariffs:

T-Mobile prepaid: € 19,00 per MB (79-fold)
T-Mobile postpaid: € 9,00 per MB (37,5-fold)

Vodafone prepaid: € 19,00-29,00 per MB (79-121-fold)
Vodafone postpaid: € 19,00 per MB (79-fold)

eplus prepaid: € 9,00 per MB (37,5-fold)
eplus postpaid: € 6,00 per MB (25-fold)

O2 prepaid: € 10,00 per MB (41,7-fold)
O2 postpaid: € 9,27 per MB (38,7-fold)

simyo: € 0,24 per MB

Perverse, isn' it?

It's about time someone did this - data prices in Germany have long been outrageous, to such an extent as to severely discourage casual use. Simply pressing the Vodafone Live! button (or equivalent) by accident could cost you a euro or so.

Looks like I have a reason to keep my Simyo card. Hope Blauworld and perhaps even the majors move to match this.

Well you are quite unlucky in Germany. I have unlimited UMTS/HSDPA data here from O2 in Czech. Cost about Euro 25. But last month data usage over 60 GB. No FUP applied.

Effendi 01-02-2007 15:23

Lucky Czechs! :D Here in Italy we have the famous Wind offers and some good ones by 3, but still with limits. The normal rate for data is still very high, 3€/MB of Wind is still the cheapest...

jpsnet 01-02-2007 16:23

Would the SIMYO data tarif also apply abroad? I had a look on their website but couldn't find any prices/tarif for GPRS abroad. If that is their standard price, then I am going to get a card today.

jpsnet 01-02-2007 16:35

OK, forget the previous post, I called their Customer Support, no international data connection possible, therefore no tarifs shown, only available in Germany.
