AT&T announces free, unlimited international text
 

Not sure if this has been posted already. Looks like they are certainly feeling the pressure from whatsapp and blackberry/facebook message apps, etc.

At last, the US carriers are beginning to look at international services as something other than a luxury and a money cow.

As DRN stated, at least TM has started something last fall by forcing some movement on behalf of the larger carriers. Monthly rates were drastically reduced a year ago. 4 lines cost $100/mo. w. unlimited voice (in and out), unlimited data on each line (1G of that at high speed), and unlimited text.
