WhatsApp SIM -worldwide "free" chatting

Just saw this announcement:
http://www.teltarif.de/whatsapp-what...ews/58374.html

provider website: http://www.whatsim.com/en

for 5 / 10 Euro per year you can use Whatsapp text messages unlimited in around 150 countries.
Charges apply for images, video and voice messages.

Sounds interesting...

What are you talking about 5/10 Euros a year. I have had whatsapp for awhile now and it was free the first year and .99 cents thereafter.

dg7feq 22-01-2015 15:58

they give you a SIM card that cost 10 euro per year.
this covers all data transmission cost of whatsapp text messages in over 150 countries.
so you can roam around and keep in touch with your friends/family/collegues without paying data cost.

I just downloaded the app to my Iphone. No need for a sim card. I never pay for text using the app.

you didnt catch the point, you still need a data plan which can be very expensive when tavelling abroad. with that whatSim you will never get any data charges as long as you stick to text messages

powerlifter 23-01-2015 14:08

I just use it for text. So why would I need a data plan? Are you talking about a tablet? If so, I do not have it on my Ipad mini. The app did not download there. I use it on my phone only. My tablet has no simcard slot. I use WiFi for my tablet.

dg7feq 23-01-2015 14:34

...you need it when you are using it in a phone and actually travelling. not talking about usage on wifi which is of course free of charge

powerlifter 24-01-2015 14:27

You are right about WiFi of course that is free. My driver in the UAE contacts me through whatsapp, Of course I am not on WiFi in the airport. Of course I use a local sim which I have inserted in my phone on the airplane. I really never thought about the data as I have a data package with all my different sim cards. Let me ask you this you are not talking about whatapps + are you? That is a third party seller which the real whatsapp does not support.

Powerlifter -
I see you are in U.S. If you are a T-Mobile customer here on the regular plan, you get unlimited texts and data in 120+ countries. That means you could do regular texts and Whatsapp texts (on data) for free.
