Recharging TIM online?

So on the 119.it site, I clicked Recarica Subito button, which opened another tab and I filled in the web form, including twice entering the number I was recharging.

I know in the past recharging online with US credit cards haven't worked but thought I'd try again.

The saveonroaming.de will recharge but impose a 3.90€ fee! which is kind of steep just to recharge 5€ to keep the SIM active for another year.

So I tried anyways and it returned an error and I figured it still doesn't work. But I got an email notification from my credit card company that the charge went through to TIM.

However, the credit isn't showing up on 119.it. My recollection was that when I recharged at shops, the credit showed up, though I didn't check immediately.

It's only been a few hours though. Has anyone recharged TIM online? Did the credit show up right away?

I tried recharging online and I received an error. I assumed it didn't take American credit cards also. I haven't checked my statement to see if I was charge. I don't think so. I'll let you know.

It appeared as a temporary authorization on my credit card account for a few days and then disappeared.

The Italian operators only accept domestic bank cards.

You can't use Paypal either.

Maybe, but this thread is specifically about an Italian operator.

Do you have an Italian bank card registered to your Paypal?

Of course not.
However, the Vodafone Italia refilled without problems from this account.
On TIM site nowhere is explicitly stated, that funding account is only possible from an Italian card or Italian Paypal

Well I can't recharge so I may find I have two TIM SIMs with no credit when I arrive in Rome early in June.

I can't even log into 119.it for one of them any more. They want to send me a text with a code but I cut it to a nano SIM and my unlocked iPhone can't get any coverage. It does detect a TIM APN so I think the SIM cutter cut it correctly. It's a little tight on the SIM tray but the iPhone recognizes that a SIM card is loaded.

The other one, which I used last June, I can log onto and it was showing .15 Euro credit and now down to .05 credit. Actually I put that SIM, which was cut for me by a mobile shop owner in Amalfi, into the same iPhone and I got a couple of SMS from TIM, probably with messages about roaming charges.

In case I need to buy a new SIM, do the stores, especially the one at Rome airport (FCO) carry Nano SIMs now? I don't want to have to pack the SIM cutter, which is fairly heavy.
