Country: | Another point against the iPhone is that it seems that it will only run software you download from AT&T. That means no Google-Maps, smsBug, etc. When you spend >$500 for the iPhone you are jusr buying a straight-jacket. |

Country: | According to Steve Jobs announcement, the phone ships with Google Maps. You can run programs coded to Web 2.0 -- which means dumb widgets. I doubt it will support VOIP, but I think you could make an SMS widget. The phone has an external SIM card slot, so I doubt the Sim Card cannot be removed. The phone will be released tonight. I'd just wait until Tuesday of next week and then start reading. Tonight's impressions will be all over the map and people will make a number of good faith mistakes. |
