Default MaxRoam: Incoming call rates on addtional numbers - 30-03-2011, 18:39

With MaxRoam, you can add additional numbers (of different countries) for 3 euro per month. However, there is no mention on the rates if you receive calls or SMS on these additional numbers.

Are incoming calls and SMS still generally free (as they are on the UK number in the eurozone)? That seems too good to be true, but there are no separate rates posted for the additional numbers...

They told me that it is the same rate, but all my instincts were that they weren't overly sure themselves.

With their old SIM, it was 9 cents a minute for inbound on a virtual number in the EU. I share your skepticism.

All incoming calls on these additional numbers do not incur any extra charges. I've used them plenty. Also, I would think those virtual numbers are not SMSable.

As i have the Qikroam flavor of Maxroam, and the classic SIM rates are still on their site, and no mention is made of deactivation, with no emails of such either, I hope the Classic SIM rates stay after 31 Mar

The Qik rates seemed to have changed, witch shows an end to the great rates except for Europe.

When I last visited Qik's website, a ton of stuff was locked down including the ability to place new orders. I think negative change is in the wind.
